Gorgeous Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum Wedding

Many Oregon wedding venues are designed with a focus on the state’s scenic nature. For couple’s seeking a unique experience, Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum is a cool wedding venue outside of Portland. The venue offers adventurous couples something different. Jenny and Brandon planned a thoughtful wedding and gave guests an unforgettable experience at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum.

The Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum

The Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum is dedicated to flight and space exploration. The museum is home to the legendary Spruce Goose, the largest wooden plane ever built. In the museum’s halls, over 150 aircraft and space exploration vehicles are on display. It’s a place where you can feel like a kid again in the presence of so many amazing machines.

As an Oregon wedding venue, the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum is unique because it blends very modern and more traditional Pacific Northwest aesthetics. The main hall is bright and full of sunlight. With so much wide open space, it’s a great location for portraits that stand out. The airplanes and spacecraft on display add to the sense of adventure. Jenny and her wedding party got to explore the Aviation Museum a bit  for some beautifully lit group photos.

The Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum is about an hour southwest of Portland in McMinnville. McMinnvillle is a relatively small town, but it has everything you could need in terms of lodgings and restaurants. For guests hoping to experience Oregon’s natural treasures, there are plenty of parks and hiking trails nearby. In the summer, you can head over to San Salvador Beach for a swim in the Willamette River.

A Unique Wedding Venue

Wedding ceremonies at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum take place in the Lodge. The Lodge is more of what you would expect from an Oregon wedding venue. It’s a large wooden building set apart from the museum itself. The steeple gives it wedding chapel vibes without being over the top.

Inside, the Lodge is spacious. A grand chandelier casts warm light on the interior. The Lodge can accommodate big gatherings or more intimate weddings. Jenny and Brandon kept it from feeling empty with their intentional reception details.

The woods and fields around the Lodge are beautiful. They provide a softer, more romantic backdrop for portraits than the interior of the museum. The contrast between the high tech museum exhibits and the natural beauty outside is part of the charm at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum.

Jenny and Brandon’s Gorgeous Wedding

You couldn’t tell from how well everything went on their wedding day, but Jenny and Brandon’s wedding happened a year after it was originally planned to take place. Due to COVID, they had to change venues. They didn’t let it bother them. Instead, they gracefully pivoted to have their wedding at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. The unique venue suited the couple perfectly.

Jenny and Brandon’s reception at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum was filled with personalized details and thoughtful decor. They made sure every part of their love story had a place. Displays around the reception hall included license plates, coordinating custom signs, and family photographs. All of the details transformed the hall into something truly special to Jenny and Brandon.

Beside the dining area, a vintage gold sofa held a sign with the couple’s last name for guests to pose for pictures. The subtle floral fabric of the couch looked stunning with the elaborate lace on Jenny’s dress. It made for a fun vintage glam moment when Jenny posed there!

Among the personalized details were photos from Jenny and Brandon’s days at Oregon State University. The couple met there. (Go Beaves!) At their wedding, they even honored their alma mater in their wedding hashtag!

The coolest part of the day was how Jenny and Brandon surrounded themselves with great people. They had a big wedding party. The whole day was lively and fun, and it’s so clear that this couple is well loved.
